About The Position

The Department of Mathematics invites applications for an assistant research professor with strong research potential in number theory. This is a non tenure-track, 36-week appointment at the rank of Assistant Research Professor. A demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching is expected, and teaching responsibilities may be part of the appointment. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in mathematics or closely related field. Candidates from all areas of math will be considered.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in mathematics or closely related field
  • Strong research potential in number theory
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching
  • Completion of Penn State application including: Curriculum Vitae, Publication List, Research Statement, Teaching Statement
  • Submission of at least three letters of reference to [email protected], one of which should address the candidate's teaching abilities in detail.
  • Successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
