This is a term position in the Jiang lab at The Pennsylvania State University, within the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art cryo-EM instruments, including Titan Krios and Talos Arctica TEMs with energy filters and direct electron detectors for single-particle cryoEM and cryo-ET, and a Hydra FIB-SEM for in situ structural studies. The position involves working on cryo-EM structural studies of amyloids in neurodegenerative diseases, virus/host interactions, and protein complexes relevant to cancers using single-particle cryoEM and cryo-ET. Daily tasks include cryo-EM sample preparation/screening, data collection, image processing, 3D reconstruction, and structural modeling/analyses.
