About The Position

This position requires a strong understanding of commercial credits and loan maintenance functions. The primary focus is assisting the Relationship Officer in managing member relationships and supporting the origination of new loans and deposits to drive portfolio growth. Serves as a point of contact for loan servicing functions, and provides day-to-day support for portfolio administration.

Requirements

  • Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • A high school education or equivalent.
  • Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
  • Must be familiar with various computer software programs and comfortable with automated technology.
  • Must be able to type, use PC, general office equipment including ten-key calculator and excellent in Excel and Word programs.
  • Excellent organizational and editing skills, communication skills with vendors, staff, members, and general public.
  • Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
  • Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
  • Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
  • Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with a Relationship Officer to handle essential portfolio management functions such as: Collecting and processing updated business member financials
  • Tracking upcoming and past due financial ticklers to keep loan covenants and annual reviews current.
  • Responding to business member service requests.
  • Supports the Relationship Officer in the origination of new loans by ensuring all necessary financials and information have been collected to allow efficient and timely workflow for the underwriting and processing departments.
  • Assists Relationship Officer in facilitating the onboarding of new business deposit accounts and related treasury management services.
  • Works together with the Relationship Officer in the preparation of construction draw requests to processing and the monitoring of construction budgets.
  • Provides quality member and team member service consistent with Credit Union standards; respond to member and staff inquiries on the phone or in person.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, The Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets.
