About The Position

The Assistant Regional Maintenance Manager is a working leadership role responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance activities across greenhouse and packhouse operations. This position actively performs hands-on maintenance work while assisting in supervising maintenance staff, ensuring equipment reliability, facility safety, and efficient operations to support business goals.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or equivalent required
  • 5 – 7+ years of maintenance experience
  • Strong leadership and team support skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills (English required; Spanish preferred)
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and trouble shooting skills
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and general maintenance systems
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance systems and documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • Used required PPE (safety glasses, face shield, dust mask, safety gloves, hearing protection, harness, etc)
  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment issues immediately

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or trade school training preferred
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role preferred
  • LOTO and safety training preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of greenhouse and packhouse equipment and systems.
  • Assist in supervising, coordinating, and documenting all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential failures or safety hazards and support preventative maintenance efforts.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining preventative maintenance programs for existing and new equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain work orders, maintenance logs, and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure maintenance requests and safety concerns are addressed promptly.
  • Support cost-control initiatives by identifying opportunities for improved materials, vendors, and processes.
  • Assist in scheduling maintenance staff to ensure adequate coverage while optimizing labor efficiency.
  • Lead by example by actively participating in maintenance tasks alongside the team and providing on the job guidance and support.
  • Promote and reinforce safety standards and compliance with company policies.
  • Participate in special projects, audits (including SMETA or safety audits), and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Assist with training and development of maintenance team members.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
