Provides support to the Program Lead Peer Social and Recreation Programs. The position includes, but is not limited to, assisting in the planning and implementation of recreational programming for clients in the GTA, Halton Region, and Hamilton area. It also involves supporting the creation and distribution of a monthly newsletter, providing information about CNIB programming and peer social groups, and facilitating programming at the Toronto Hub and various community locations. This includes communicating with volunteers, preparing and setting up sessions, and offering guidance and support to individuals who are blind or partially sighted. Additionally, the role involves performing administrative tasks such as updating the Hub calendar, tracking program attendance and volunteer hours, sending session reminders, and responding to inquiries. The position also requires general administrative duties, communication with internal and external stakeholders, participation in team meetings, promoting CNIB programs and services, working under general direction, providing solutions and recommending process improvements, and handling confidential material with limited supervision when required.
