About The Position

Assists in scheduling, planning and organizing adult and children's activities. Supervises events and participants in the programs. Supervises all employees. Integral to the position of Assistant Center Manager is the responsibility for developing subordinates to their fullest potential by exercising appropriate degrees of coaching, training, guiding, evaluating, correcting and, if necessary, disciplining.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to public and employees.
  • Skills in planning and scheduling a variety of activities.
  • Knowledge of basic computer software programs, standard office equipment.
  • Knowledge of various sports and rules associated to them.
  • Ability to learn specialized RecTrac software.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED training certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or an equivalent nationally recognized course in First Aid/CPR/AED.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to a wide variety of age groups.
  • Ability to learn REACH software program content.
  • Ability to assist in officiating sporting activities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, which will include evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of CPR and first aid desirable.
  • Associates degree in recreation or related field preferred or one or more years of prior experience or any combination of formal education and work experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in planning and supervising special activities, events and sports tournaments as directed.
  • Responsible for supervising the center as well as training.
  • Prepares daily reports, deposits, and bi-weekly payroll.
  • Monitors and assists in scheduling fitness/exercise classes.
  • Responsible for employee scheduling.
  • Assists with all paperwork and answering phone.
  • Manages clientele files and general clerical duties.
  • Assists in the general maintenance of building.
  • Aids in training and recruitment of employees.
  • Operates the center in absence of the manager.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
