About The Position

This role supports the fabric and Leather development process from proto through commercialization, ensuring all materials align with brand quality and standards, support seasonal design direction while maintaining cost targets, and are delivered on time to meet key milestone dates. This role works closely with cross-functional teams including Design, Color & Print Team, Product Development, Fabric & Leather Suppliers, and Factories.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in trims development, production, or sourcing in apparel, preferably in RTW.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PLM systems, and Adobe Illustrator a plus.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with internal and external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with domestic and overseas suppliers/vendors.
  • Knowledge of sustainable materials and industry certifications (e.g., GOTS, OEKO-TEX).
  • Familiarity with garment construction and fit processes.
  • Familiarity with testing and quality standards generally used in the apparel fashion industry

Responsibilities

  • PLM Management. Enter and maintain all seasonal fabrics in PLM. Ensure all correct colors and combos have been added by print and color team.
  • Create all PLM Board Cards seasonally for the Fabric and Design teams. Maintain all seasonal and core fabric boards, ensuring all are accurate and up to date.
  • Enter all seasonal fabrics into the Finale Inventory system so that team leads can issue sampling PO’s in a timely manner.
  • Manage and track all proto and SMS sampling orders to ensure on time delivery both in house and at factories. Work with Trade Compliance and logistics teams to problem solve any customs and delivery issues.
  • Create seasonal and core fabric hangers and ensure fabric racks are regularly checked for accuracy.
  • Work with PD and design to allocate/ ship proto and SMS to factories and in house atelier
  • Process and track all shipments from the NY office to mills and factories as directed by the team leads
  • Manage and upkeep the fabric library and development binders.
  • Ensure design has all necessary fabric racks and boards in the design work room prior to all seasonal design meetings
  • Assist with any local sourcing needed prior to runway shows as directed by the fabric design team
  • Partner with the in-house atelier and design team during runway pre-show prep to ensure all required fabrics are readily available.
  • Maintain the in-house liability binder ensuring it is accurate with correct fabric cuttings
  • Work with team leads to review seasonal SMS approvals for Handfeel and appearance. Maintain seasonal approval bins ensuring all fabrics sampled are reviewed and team lead comments are logged and attached to all approvals.
  • Organize seasonal SMS testing including creating TRF submits to our testing partner, shipping testing yardage, confirming testing results and upkeeping all results in out seasonal testing chart.
