Assistant Range Safety Officer (ARSO)
About The Position
The Assistant Range Safety Officer (ARSO) role requires a strong background in supporting engineering, design, or testing of hardware, with specific experience in applying operational procedures, policies, and SOPs. The position demands good leadership and people skills, along with a working knowledge of range safety. Key responsibilities include researching, analyzing, and applying safe operating procedures, with a focus on military weapons, missile systems, and lasers. Compliance with health mandates and successful completion of drug and alcohol testing may be required as a condition of employment.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
- Seven (7) years of applicable experience supporting engineering, design, or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; OR three (3) years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 4 years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area
- Mechanical specialization: At least 6 years of the 7 years of experience must include successful completion of vocational/military/technical school training in practical or industrial arts and a minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical fabrication and structural/fixture setup supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.
