About The Position

The Assistant Ranch Drive On contributes to and assists the Ranch Manager in overseeing ranch activities and functions for assigned fryers and the fryer ranch. The role helps direct fryer grow-out, including ranch setup, brooding, temperature and ventilation management, mortality monitoring, vaccinations, and medications, to maintain high-quality conditions. The assistant helps maintain ranch facilities and appearance, coordinates with the maintenance department for materials and service calls, and follows and enforces sanitation procedures. The role monitors bird health, reports abnormalities to the Manager or Field Supervisor, and responds responsibly to emergencies that could affect the chickens at any time of day or night. The position assists with managing production costs, maintaining accurate ranch records, training and delegating work to ranch personnel, and enforcing company safety, animal welfare, and disease-prevention guidelines. Other duties may be assigned by management. Additional pay is provided for hours worked during specified evening and overnight periods.

Requirements

Must have completed the Chicken Grow Out Training Program.
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must possess supervisory and leadership skills.
Must have good mathematical and organizational skills.
Must have good written and verbal communication skills in basic English.
Must be able to move and lift 50 pounds.
Must be willing and able to respond as necessary to alarms and adverse conditions affecting the chickens.
Must be able to work as scheduled or needed, including overtime, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
Must be able to follow and enforce company standards, guidelines, and policies on anyone working on the ranch complex.
Must be able to work at other ranches or complexes as needed.

Responsibilities

Maintain ranch facilities and appearance, and coordinate needed materials and service calls with the maintenance department.
Follow and enforce strict sanitation procedures; monitor bird health and report abnormalities to the Manager or Field Supervisor.
Respond responsibly to emergencies that could adversely affect the chickens, day or night.
Assist the Ranch Manager in managing and controlling labor, fuel, supply, utility, medication, and ranch maintenance costs.
Maintain accurate and complete records of ranch activities, including feed, mortality, fuel, production, and energy consumption.
Assist with training ranch personnel and delegating duties.
Adhere to and enforce company safety, animal welfare, and disease-prevention guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
