About The Position

The Assistant Ranch Drive-On contributes to, assists, and relieves the Ranch Manager in overseeing assigned fryer ranch activities. The role assists with directing the fryer grow-out program, including ranch setup, brooding, temperature, ventilation, mortality, vaccinations, and medications, to maintain conditions that support quality and productivity. The position helps maintain ranch facilities and equipment, coordinate needed materials and maintenance service calls, uphold sanitation and disease-protection procedures, monitor bird health, and report abnormalities. The Assistant Ranch Drive-On must respond responsibly to emergencies affecting chickens, including outside regular hours. The role also assists with production cost control, recordkeeping, staff training and delegation, and enforcement of company safety, animal-welfare, and disease-prevention guidelines. The listed pay rate is $18.25 per hour, with an additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. and an additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00 a.m. and 4:59 a.m.

Requirements

Must have completed the Chicken Grow Out Training Program.
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must possess supervisory and leadership skills.
Must have good mathematical and organizational skills.
Must have good written and verbal communication skills in basic English.
Must be able to move and lift 50 pounds.
Must be willing and able to respond as necessary to alarms and adverse conditions affecting the chickens.
Must be able to work as scheduled or needed, including overtime, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
Must be able to follow and enforce company standards, guidelines, and policies.

Responsibilities

Contribute to, assist, and relieve the Ranch Manager in overseeing assigned fryer ranch activities and functions.
Assist in directing the fryer grow-out program, including ranch setup, brooding, temperatures, ventilation, mortality, vaccinations, and medications.
Help maintain ranch facilities and equipment for optimal use and appearance, coordinating needed materials and maintenance service calls.
Follow and help enforce strict sanitation and disease-protection procedures, remain alert to bird health, and report abnormalities to the Manager or Field Supervisor.
Respond responsibly to emergencies that could adversely affect chickens, day or night.
Assist the Ranch Manager with managing and controlling ranch production costs, including labor, fuel, supplies, utilities, medications, and maintenance.
Help maintain accurate and complete records of ranch activities, including feed, mortality, fuel, production, and energy consumption.
Assist the Ranch Manager with training ranch personnel and delegating duties.
Adhere to and enforce company safety, animal-welfare, and disease-prevention guidelines.
Maintain awareness of industrial safety and report problems to the Field Supervisor.
Follow and enforce company standards, guidelines, and policies for anyone working on the ranch complex.
Work at other ranches or complexes as needed.
