About The Position

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is seeking an Assistant Quartermaster. This part-time position involves various duties related to inventory management, supply distribution, and courier services. Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to initiate and complete duties using efficient time management skills
  • Ability to formulate and maintain accurate inventory records/reports
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbal and written, demonstrating an awareness for human diversity to citizens and colleagues
  • Must upload all required documents with application submission: Driver's License with current address, signed Social Security card, birth certificate issued by state or local government authority, High School diploma/GED, College transcript, DD214 Member-4, Name change documents, FDLE certification documents (certified positions), official arrest/charge documents.
  • If a document does not apply, upload an attachment with N/A.
  • If a document is unavailable, list status of documentation (ordered, requested, in search of, etc.).
  • Must submit a complete report of passing Wonderlic Basic Skills Test scores directly to the SCSO.
  • Must submit to a comprehensive background investigation, a polygraph examination, medical examinations, drug and tobacco screening, and psychological examination (for certified and communications positions).
  • Agree to have a background investigator review any social networking websites.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree, 60 equivalent hours from an accredited college or university, or pass the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test.

Responsibilities

  • Fill in as courier when needed
  • Fold and put clothes in inventory physically and electronically
  • Issue and accurately record all clothing and uniform supplies issued to employees
  • Distribute office supplies as required/requested in accordance with agency policy
  • Make disposition of unusable clothing
  • Handle both incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Formulate and maintain accurate inventory records/reports
  • Effectively communicate, verbal and written, demonstrating an awareness for human diversity to citizens and colleagues
