Assists the Property Manager in the day-to-day management of the property or properties as assigned. This role involves interviewing prospective tenants, managing housing applications, explaining regulatory programs, conducting recertifications, verifying tenant information, and computing rental charges. The Assistant Property Manager also inspects rental units, addresses tenant complaints, observes and addresses the needs of aging tenants, refers tenants to social services, and recommends or assists with eviction proceedings. Responsibilities include preparing work orders, collecting rents and other tenant charges, making deposits, preparing documentation, writing letters and reports, and assisting with accounts payable processing. General office duties such as answering phones, filing, and ordering supplies are also part of the role. The position requires staying informed about all rules and regulations governing low-income housing projects and performing other related duties as assigned.
