About The Position

Brailsford & Dunlavey (B&D), which now includes Project Management Advisors (PMA), is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support complex healthcare design and construction projects across the New York region. This is an opportunity for a driven, collaborative professional who enjoys solving problems, building relationships, and contributing to projects that directly impact healthcare environments and patient care. Located in New York, NY, on a hybrid basis. Our healthcare project management team partners with clients to guide complex projects through planning, design, construction, and occupancy. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support healthcare projects from pre-construction through closeout, collaborating closely with senior project leaders, clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field
  • 3+ years of project management or project coordination experience within healthcare design, construction, or related environments
  • Understanding of design and construction processes, project controls, and consultant coordination
  • Familiarity with construction documentation, budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Operate with a high level of personal integrity
  • Ability to work collaboratively while also taking ownership of assigned responsibilities
  • Professionalism, adaptability, positivity, and a strong client-service mindset

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of healthcare design and construction projects across multiple phases
  • Assist with project-specific tasks to help meet client goals, schedules, budgets, and contractual obligations
  • Support pre-construction planning activities, conceptual design analysis, and project documentation efforts
  • Coordinate and review architectural and engineering drawings, bid documents, and consultant deliverables
  • Assist with contract administration activities and support the preparation of contracts, addenda, and project documentation
  • Help manage permitting coordination and support project teams through regulatory approval processes
  • Participate in meetings with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to review project progress and resolve issues
  • Maintain project tracking logs, open item lists, schedules, and budget documentation
  • Monitor project budgets and schedules, including maintaining web-based project controls and reporting tools
  • Observe construction progress and document field conditions, project updates, and safety-related observations
  • Support project closeout activities and transition planning efforts
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on problem-solving, accountability, and client service excellence
