About The Position

Alston Construction Company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to lead, direct, and coordinate the overall management of assigned construction projects. The goal is to complete each project safely, on schedule, within budget, and at or above profit goals while supporting client relationships and the company’s image. This is an on-site position with project travel required; the posting identifies 100% travel and Atlanta, Georgia.

Requirements

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, with appropriate experience successfully managing construction projects for a general contractor from conception to completion; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects are completed with quality, on time, and within the allocated budget.
• Review contract documents for potential conflicts or interpretation issues to mitigate risk.
• Review design documents for compliance with specifications and the contract.
• Review subcontract documents for scope completeness and project plans, scopes, submittals, and shop drawings for specification compliance and design or constructability issues.
• Ensure proper document control and record keeping, and submit close-out documents, including as-built drawings.
• Work with the Superintendent to facilitate construction and coordinate staff activities toward project budget, schedule, safety, and quality goals.
• Create, maintain, and monitor a detailed master project schedule, including actual task start and finish dates.
• Provide timely and accurate reports on whether work meets contract requirements and remains on schedule and within budget.
• Lead or participate in responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), including site investigation and preliminary design.
• Perform other related duties.
