About The Position

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role helps ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements. The APM works closely with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments to support project delivery.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in construction project coordination or management support.
  • Proficiency in construction management software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts and change management.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and vendors.
  • Highly Organized
  • Excellent Problem-Solving Skills and ability to take decisive action.
  • Time and Organization Management.
  • Collaboration and Team Leadership; ability to multitask and handle competing priorities between business needs, organizational issues and sound customer relations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support execution of pipeline infrastructure, CCTV inspection, and rehab/replacement projects
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders to maintain project flow
  • Track schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time progress
  • Assist in managing project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasts
  • Review invoices and subcontractor pay applications for accuracy
  • Support change order processing and identify potential cost impacts
  • Maintain and manage project documentation (RFIs, submittals, drawings, change orders)
  • Ensure plans/specs are current and properly distributed
  • Support contract administration and compliance requirements
  • Act as liaison between project teams, field staff, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Participate in meetings, document and distribute key updates
  • Communicate progress, risks, and issues to the Project Manager
  • Assist in maintaining project schedules and tracking critical milestones
  • Coordinate material procurement and delivery timelines
  • Support project closeout, including punch lists and final inspections
  • Ensure all warranties, manuals, and closeout documentation are complete
