About The Position

The Assistant Project Manager supports the administration and management of healthcare construction projects, assisting the Project Manager. The role handles project cost control, billing and payments, change orders, project systems, procurement, bidding, procedures, and plan reviews. It also supervises and trains Project Engineers and clerical staff and performs other assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience.
Thorough understanding of plans and specifications.
Field experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills.
3–4 years of construction experience.
At least 1 year of scheduling and estimating experience.

Responsibilities

Perform all Project Engineer job responsibilities.
Maintain the cost control ledger and job cost statements.
Prepare billings and expedite payments.
Estimate, prepare, and negotiate Change Orders.
Write subcontract Change Orders.
Set up and maintain all aspects of the CMiC system.
Prepare bid packages and solicit and evaluate bids.
Write project procedures.
Review plans for completeness and accuracy.
Prepare Purchase Orders and Rental Agreements.
Supervise and train Project Engineers and clerical staff.
Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
