About The Position

The Assistant Project Manager assists the Project Manager in administering and managing a construction project. The role includes project cost tracking, billing and payment coordination, change order and bid preparation, project system administration, purchasing, plan review, and supervision and training of Project Engineers and clerical staff. Compensation is $96,100–$144,100 annual salary.

Requirements

Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience.
Thorough understanding of plans and specifications.
Field experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills.
3–4 years of construction experience.
At least 1 year of scheduling and estimating experience.

Responsibilities

Perform all Project Engineer job responsibilities.
Maintain the cost control ledger and job cost statements.
Prepare billings and expedite payments.
Estimate, prepare, and negotiate Change Orders.
Write subcontract Change Orders.
Set up and maintain all aspects of the CMiC system.
Prepare bid packages and solicit and evaluate bids.
Write project procedures.
Review plans for completeness and accuracy.
Prepare Purchase Orders and Rental Agreements.
Supervise and train Project Engineers and clerical staff.
Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
