The Assistant Project Manager will support the preparation of estimates, project budgets, and unit cost reports. This role involves organizing pre-construction planning meetings, participating in subcontract negotiations, and assisting the project team in developing the project management plan and ensuring the successful execution of construction contracts. The position also includes participating in value engineering, reviewing plans and specifications for completeness, and assisting owners in obtaining permits and resolving regulatory requirements. The Assistant Project Manager will help prepare project schedules, develop necessary milestones, and manage monthly client pay requests, ensuring timely collection of billings. They will control job and subcontractor costs, coordinate payments, and participate in monthly job cost reviews to enhance project profitability and align with company objectives. Additionally, this role manages project material and equipment procurement within budget and schedule constraints, develops and monitors quality, safety, and risk management plans, and negotiates owner and subcontractor change orders. The Assistant Project Manager will attend and document project team meetings, coordinate final project close-out procedures, and participate in post-completion reviews. This role also involves training and mentoring project and field engineers, managing project engineers to ensure construction compliance, and updating/implementing software for collaboration, quality, and document management. Developing and maintaining owner relationships and performing other related duties are also key aspects of this position.
