About The Position

RQ Construction, a nationally recognized Design-Build contractor, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to manage commercial construction projects in Norfolk, Virginia. The APM will be involved in projects from preconstruction through closeout, working alongside experienced Project Managers to coordinate schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and field operations. This role offers hands-on experience leading complex, fast-track projects, with opportunities to either support a larger project, oversee a specific scope, or manage smaller projects independently. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 4+ years of construction industry experience preferred
• At least 1 year of experience as a Project Engineer
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• OSHA 30, CPR, and First Aid certifications (training available if needed)
• Must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
• Must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Primavera P6, Viewpoint, BIM, or Revit is a plus
• LEED Green Associate and QCM certifications are a plus

Responsibilities
