About The Position

The Assistant Project Manager assists with providing the planning, coordination, and direction for project management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule. May supervise office/field administrative staff or project/field engineers and other assigned staff.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent is required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager.
Knowledge of project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles.
Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related systems such as Prolog and Primavera.
Proficiency with various document control systems, as well as new construction and modernization.

Nice To Haves

Construction Manager in Training (CMIT) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect formwork, reinforced steel, and reinforcing steel placement (rebar) before pouring.
Conduct testing (slump, air entrainment, temperature, cylinder preparation) in the field and lab.
Verify that concrete placement and curing comply with construction documents, site plans, and standards (e.g. ACI, IBC).
Maintain detailed records of inspection results, material samples and deficiencies, and prepare reports.
Oversee concrete pours to ensure quality and issue corrections or stoppages if specs are not met.
