About The Position

The Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager in overseeing and coordinating various aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves a blend of administrative, technical, and on-site duties to facilitate smooth project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in construction project management or a related role, preferably within heavy civil, pipeline, or utility infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, terminology, and project lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
  • Track project progress, performance, and resource allocation.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, submittals, RFIs, and daily reports.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Participate in project meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Monitor project schedules and identify potential delays or issues, proposing solutions.
  • Assist in cost control activities, including tracking expenses and reviewing invoices.
  • Support the Project Manager in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality control standards.
  • Coordinate with field personnel to ensure proper resource deployment and task execution.
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and address any on-site concerns.
