The Assistant Project Manager II manages assigned scopes of work and project duties as directed by a supervisor. The role has novice-level skill across many project management competencies and is working toward full proficiency. Most working time is expected to be spent at construction sites to learn and apply construction management methods, gain direct experience in construction execution, and support project teams in delivering successful projects. Travel is required as needed, and the job location is required. The role may supervise others and may perform other duties as assigned. Responsibilities span field management, safety and quality; project documentation and communications; scheduling; financial management; procurement; estimating; scope and change management; design coordination; client relations; and project startup and closeout. The Assistant Project Manager II works closely with the superintendent and project manager, supports subcontractor coordination and construction controls, and monitors work for safety, quality, and consistency with plans and specifications. The position also develops proficiency with construction project technologies and equipment, including Procore, Building Connected, scheduling software, drones, cameras, measuring equipment, weather metering tools, and augmented reality applications. A bachelor's degree is preferred, particularly in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field. The role requires 2–4 years of relevant construction management experience. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, 3–5 years of directly related construction management experience is required. Candidates should understand the construction industry and be able to monitor budgets, schedules, materials, and other resources amid competing demands. Strong organizational, communication, collaboration, and analytical skills are also required. The work may involve visiting alternate locations and construction sites. Physical activities include standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and handling light to medium weights of 10–50 pounds. The position also requires hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, visual acuity, and the ability to sit, reach, talk, and hear. Haskell states that it will make reasonable accommodations in compliance with applicable disability laws.
