About The Position

The Assistant Project Manager I (Transmission & Distribution) is responsible for assisting in the oversight of construction projects that deliver exceptional results for clients, generate profit, and produce lasting client relationships. High Country Line Construction, Inc. (High Country) – a subsidiary of MYR Group Inc. – has successfully completed transmission, distribution, foundation, substation, and clean energy projects across the United States. We deliver a complete range of services, including powerline construction, infrastructure, and emergency restoration. High Country possesses the expertise to provide high-voltage electrical construction services to utility and private developers nationwide. Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location. Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as Estimator or Project Engineer in the electrical construction industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, and Word

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Manager in a wide range of project management duties
  • Proactively develop effective, efficient solutions to issues that may arise
  • Study bid specifications and drawings carefully
  • Communicate continuously with clients
  • Deliver on projects in a timely manner
  • Attend networking events and travel to conferences and job sites as needed
  • Work to build and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients, vendors and the subcontractor community
  • Coordinate closely with crews, superintendents, and other departments within the company
  • Ensure safety procedures and policies are in place and followed
  • Prepare look-ahead documents and weekly/monthly progress reports
  • Prepare construction schedules in Microsoft Projects and/or Primavera
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
