About The Position

Alternatives, Inc. in Phillipsburg, NJ is looking to hire a full-time Assistant Group Home Manager to support adults with developmental disabilities and help oversee residential group home program. We pay a competitive wage of $22.00/hr ($24.00 on weekends). Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen
Clear tuberculosis (TB) screening
Ability to pass and maintain required trainings such as CPR/first aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support training
Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a group setting is strongly preferred for the temporary Assistant Group Home Manager position, but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living such as administering medication, cooking meals, performing personal hygiene, and transportation to medical appointments.
Assist in the implementation of individual behavioral plans.
Teach new skills and help residents achieve goals using effective teaching and mentoring techniques.
Encourage resident interests and drive them to community outings and recreational activities based on individual preferences and behavioral plans.
Report any concerns about resident health and safety.
Keep documentation accurate and up-to-date.
Assist the Group Home Manager with staff scheduling, budgeting, communication with doctors' offices and parents/guardians, and perform fire drills.
