About The Position

Emory University is seeking an Assistant Professor for the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, specializing in Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD). This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) academic position with primary duties at Emory University Hospital (EUH), with credentials also at Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM) and Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital (ESJH). The role involves clinical duties within the ACHD program, including outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, echocardiogram interpretation, and participation in the on-call rotation. A portion of the time is allocated for administrative activities. The position also includes teaching responsibilities, such as lectures, small group and bedside teaching, preceptorship, and mentorship, in line with the School of Medicine's guidelines. Scholarly or academic activities are also expected. This position requires in-person work at an Emory University location.

Requirements

  • MD or equivalent degree.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Cardiology.
  • Specialized training or experience in Adult Congenital Heart Disease.
  • Ability to obtain medical licensure in the state of Georgia.
  • Eligible for credentialing at Emory University Hospital, Emory University Hospital Midtown, and Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct 9 clinical sessions per week, divided between outpatient clinic and inpatient consultative service at EUH.
  • Interpret Echocardiograms for ACHD patients.
  • Participate fully in the ACHD service on-call rotation at EUH.
  • Engage in administrative activities for 1 session per week.
  • Participate in teaching, which may include occasional lectures, small group and bedside teaching, preceptorship, and mentorship.
  • Engage in other scholarly or academic activities.
