About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic, patient-centered, board certified/eligible sleep psychologist to be a part of our expanding and dynamic sleep program. This is a part-time (0.50) Assistant Professor position in the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Children’s Hospital Colorado. The position will be engaged in outpatient clinical assessment and evidence-based treatment of behavioral sleep problems in youth. The role will work independently and in coordination with pediatric sleep providers and community providers to expand behavioral sleep medicine services in the areas of PAP desensitization and adherence promotion, behavioral sleep disorders, and actigraphy assessment and interpretation. Requirements

  • PhD or PsyD
  • Licensed Psychologists or License-eligible in the State of Colorado
  • Completion of a psychology internship accredited by the American Psychological Association
  • Completion of a post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology OR equivalent training totaling 500 hours of didactic training and clinical experience
  • Board certification by the Board of Behavioral Sleep Medicine within 5 years of hire
  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Nice To Haves

  • Sleep background/interest preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record system, email, and other medical technologies
  • Experience with assessment and treatment of sleep and circadian rhythm disorders and related comorbidities preferred
  • Training and experience in the evaluation of children and adolescents with medical, developmental, and psychiatric conditions
  • Awareness of cognitive and behavioral therapies and approaches
  • Experience in provision of individual, family, and group evidence-based therapies
  • Case management coordination
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Responsibilities

  • Outpatient clinical care (in person and telehealth)
  • Provide individual and family assessment and intervention in the area of behavioral sleep medicine, in coordination with and in support of other pediatric sleep providers
  • Actively contribute to quality and safety initiatives in collaboration with CHCO/BI leadership
  • Act as a resource to the sleep team in planning, coordinating and evaluating care and outcomes
  • Participate in programmatic evaluation, quality improvement initiatives and research processes to track outcomes and advance care
  • Assist with education and training in behavioral sleep medicine for faculty/staff, community providers, trainees, and patients and families
  • Attend hospital, university, sleep program, and BI meetings as appropriate
