About The Position
The Department of Dermatology is seeking academic-minded dermatologists and dermatopathologists with an MD or DO to join their full-time faculty as an Assistant Professor, outside of the tenure stream. This role involves providing comprehensive evaluation and management of dermatologic conditions. The department serves a diverse and medically complex patient population in the greater Pittsburgh area and beyond, with a large network of hospitals and outpatient locations. The department offers a wide range of services including general dermatology, phototherapy, laser, Mohs micrographic surgery, aesthetic services, and inpatient consultations. The Dermatopathology unit is onsite, and a teledermatology program provides care across the state. Opportunities for clinical research and collaboration are available for interested individuals.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree.
- Academic-minded dermatologist or dermatopathologist.

Responsibilities
- Diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of skin, hair, nail, and mucosal disorders.
- Performance of dermatologic examinations and procedures.
- Development of individualized treatment plans.
- Ongoing management of acute and chronic skin diseases.
- Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests.
- Managing follow-up care.
- Referring patients to other specialists when indicated.
- Providing preventative dermatologic care, including skin cancer screenings, counseling on sun protection, and age-appropriate dermatologic assessments and surveillance.
