About The Position

The University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center are seeking a tenure-track faculty member with research interests and expertise in cancer survivorship and population sciences. This role is part of a collaborative initiative between the cancer center and the nursing school. The ideal candidate will be a team scientist with expertise in areas such as cancer and aging, dissemination and implementation science, or AI/ML/big data analytics. These areas would complement existing research programs in symptom management, patient-reported outcomes, technology-supported interventions, biobehavioral mechanisms, electronic health records, value-based care models, health disparities, cardiometabolic health, epidemiological cohort studies, and lifestyle medicine. The School of Nursing and Health Studies, which ranks 11th in NIH funding among nursing schools, offers extensive facilities including high-tech classrooms, seminar rooms, computer labs, a Biobehavioral Laboratory, and a Simulation Hospital. The position offers opportunities for collaboration within the cancer center's research programs and potential secondary appointments across the University.

Requirements

  • Active RN license.
  • PhD in Nursing Science or a related discipline.
  • Strong record of scholarly publications.
  • Demonstrated history or strong potential for extramural funding.
  • Exceptional promise in cancer survivorship, population sciences, and nursing research.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in cancer survivorship and population sciences.
  • Collaborate with faculty within the School of Nursing and Health Studies and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
  • Contribute to the development of research programs in areas such as cancer and aging, dissemination and implementation science, and AI/ML or big data analytics.
  • Publish scholarly work.

  • Participate in educational activities within the School of Nursing and Health Studies.
