About The Position

Vermont State University (VTSU), Williston/St. Albans campus invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Nursing for the academic year 2026-2027, teaching across the Practical Nursing (PN) Program and Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) Program. Qualified candidates will be offered a tenure-track position or a one-year terminal contract, renewable for three years, based on the individual's years of full-time clinical nursing experience and years of full-time teaching in an accredited nursing program.

Requirements

• An unencumbered Registered Nurse license allowing practice in Vermont.
• Masters of Science in Nursing
• A minimum of two years full-time, or the equivalent of, acute care nursing experience.
• Commitment to the mission and vision of Vermont State University and the Department of Nursing.
• Commitment to the integration of technology, including simulation across the curriculum.
• Knowledge of processes related to NLN-CNEA Accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to the professional learning environment in the classroom and in clinical rotations.
• Encouraging student learning and retention, consistent with the student learning outcomes and course objectives, nurturing an environment focused on providing the highest quality of care to patients.
• Evaluating student acquisition of nursing competence.
• Participating in the implementation, evaluation, and revision of the nursing curriculum and relevant policies.
• Serving as an academic adviser to students across the programs.
• Participating in assigned roles in the Department of Nursing standing committees.
• Demonstrating continued professional development in the areas of nursing and nursing education commensurate with assigned roles.
• Collaborating with healthcare partners across the state of Vermont.
• Complying with the policies outlined by the Vermont State College system, Vermont State University, and the Department of Nursing.
