The Department of Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking to fill up to four full-time tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. The application review begins September 15 and continues until positions are filled. Successful candidates will possess a strong capacity for research that impacts public health, advances the field of epidemiology, and contributes to the department’s teaching mission. Faculty members are expected to develop independently funded research portfolios, produce impactful scholarly work, mentor master’s and doctoral students, and teach core epidemiology methods and/or substantive area courses. The department's core mission involves the development and application of research methods to understand health and disease patterns and causes, and to apply this knowledge to improve population health. The department offers robust training in research methods and opportunities to apply epidemiology to diverse health issues.
