About The Position

The Section of Nephrology & Hypertension and the Tulane Transplant Institute at Tulane University School of Medicine are recruiting for a Clinician-Educator faculty position. This position will have responsibilities in Transplant Nephrology and General Nephrology. The percent spent in each area is dependent on the needs of the program and interest of the candidates. In partnership with the Tulane Transplant Institute, the role includes overseeing inpatient services for acute and chronic kidney disease, dialysis services, fluid and electrolyte problems, and kidney transplant. Outpatient services involve the evaluation and management of transplant patients and their associated medical conditions. Administrative and educational responsibilities include overseeing transplant waiting list management and maintaining compliance of the transplant program. General nephrology outpatient services cover chronic kidney disease, glomerulonephritis, hypertension, and ESRD. Hospitals covered include East Jefferson General Hospital, University Medical Center, and the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System. The physician will participate in the teaching and clinical programs for Residents, Fellows, and medical students. The candidate will have on-call coverage on a rotating basis and will attend on inpatient services with Fellows. Outpatient duties will be on a continuing basis. Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, and candidates finishing fellowship are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
