About The Position

The Assistant Professor's responsibility encompasses education, scholarship, and service. This role requires demonstrating loyalty to the mission, policies, standards, and regulations of the respective department, school, and the University, and adherence to administrative policies. The Assistant Professor will work on statistics and research design issues across the three departments of the School of Behavior Health. The DMFT Faculty member contributes to doctoral education through teaching, research, mentoring, and service, supporting the academic and professional development of doctoral students and participating in program, department, and university activities.

Requirements

  • An earned doctoral degree in one of the recognized behavioral health professions
  • Experience teaching multiple levels of statistics
  • Conducting data analysis
  • Use of statistical software
  • Teaching experience (can be met by post doctorate teaching assignments or teaching assistantship experiences with primary responsibility over classroom instruction)
  • Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in both classroom and online teaching and presentations
  • Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner
  • Able to write legibly
  • Speak in English with professional quality
  • Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position as well as Canvas and Banner
  • Able to communicate effectively on the telephone
  • Think critically
  • Manage multiple assignments effectively
  • Organize and prioritize workload
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
  • Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure
  • Professional certification, licensure or registration as appropriate
  • Earned Doctor of Marital and Family Therapy (DMFT) degree
  • Current clinical licensure as an LMFT or LPCC (or license eligible)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching or mentoring at the graduate or doctoral level
