The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Structural Engineering beginning in Fall 2027. Candidates should demonstrate research and teaching interests aligned with structural engineering and that complement existing departmental strengths and resources. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has 26 tenured/tenure-track faculty, approximately 700 undergraduates, and 140 graduate students, and offers B.C.E., M.S., M.C.E., and Ph.D. degrees. Structural engineering faculty have excellent opportunities for funded research through the Highway Research Center and collaboration with the Alabama Department of Transportation, in addition to industry, state agencies, and federal agencies. Faculty have also been highly successful in leveraging the state-of-the-art testing capabilities of the 42,000 ft2 Advanced Structural Engineering Laboratory.
