About The Position

The University of Louisville Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine and Medical Education, seeks a full-time internist to serve as an academic hospitalist and provide additional outpatient services. Duties include annual coverage and hospitalist ward attending responsibilities, along with some outpatient coverage at an academic medical center. The appointee will provide internal medicine specialty care to patients on the inpatient service and may supervise and train medical residents, working directly with subspecialty providers on a daily basis. The role may also involve participation in hospital-administered quality assurance programs and attendance at divisional and departmental meetings and presentations as a member of the Department of Medicine faculty. The position will be filled at the rank of Assistant Professor Term.

Requirements

• Be board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine.
• Hold an active Kentucky medical license or be eligible to obtain one within 90 days of the hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide annual coverage and participate in hospitalist ward attending duties.
• Provide some outpatient coverage at an academic medical center.
• Provide internal medicine specialty care to patients on the inpatient service.
• May supervise and train medical residents.
• Work directly with subspecialty providers on a daily basis.
• May participate in quality assurance programs administered by the hospital.
• May attend divisional and departmental meetings and presentations as a member of the Department of Medicine faculty.
