About The Position

The Butler University College of Health Professions invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor (tenure track, 10-month appointment) in the Department of Health Sciences. We are in search of an individual to join a growing team of faculty to teach undergraduate courses in Human Anatomy & Physiology. Additional opportunities for teaching exist in the areas of Nutrition and Medical Terminology. Qualified applicants must have earned a PhD in an anatomy and physiology related discipline. Responsibilities will include classroom instruction, course management, student academic advisement and mentoring, program and college committee service, and scholarly efforts. Our Human Anatomy & Physiology labs utilize Anatomage® technology for instruction. Preference will be given to applicants with experience and/or comfortability adopting the use of this technology. Requirements

  • PhD in an anatomy and physiology related discipline (ABD considered)
  • Desire to use innovative teaching methods to engage and educate undergraduate students
  • Experience in scholarly pursuits
  • Willingness to mentor undergraduate students in research
  • A collaborative approach to teaching and scholarship
  • A demonstrated commitment to building an inclusive learning environment for an increasingly diverse student population
  • A demonstrated commitment to advising (academic, career, mentorship) undergraduate students

  • Service (departmental, college, university), as appropriate, for a 10-month faculty member
