About The Position

The University of Tennessee Health Sciences, College of Medicine–Chattanooga, is seeking a part-time, non-tenure Assistant Professor who will also serve as Interim Program Director of the Psychiatry Residency Program. The role is responsible for ensuring that the ACGME-accredited program meets its educational and programmatic requirements and that its graduates meet the minimum requirements for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

The position also includes clinical duties expected by the affiliated clinical partner, supervision of resident patient care in accordance with ACGME and regulatory requirements, and ensuring that lead faculty and residents have appropriate resources to meet scholarly activity expectations.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree.
• American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology board certification or equivalent.
• Active Tennessee medical license.

Nice To Haves

• Three years of clinical or administrative experience after completion of a Psychiatry Residency.
• Medical education experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all educational and programmatic requirements of the ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency Program are met.
• Ensure residency program graduates meet minimum requirements for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
• Meet the clinical duties expected by the affiliated clinical partner.
• Ensure required direct and indirect supervision of resident patient care in accordance with ACGME and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure appropriate resources are available to lead faculty and residents for required scholarly activity.
