About The Position

The Faculty of Education invites applications for a Limited Term Appointment in the Department of Educational Studies. The position involves teaching foundation of education courses in Undergraduate Educational Studies. The appointment, subject to budgetary approval, will commence August 1, 2026.

Requirements

• A completed Doctorate in Educational Studies, Curriculum Studies or a related field.
• Evidence of demonstrated expertise in the social, historical, philosophical and psychological foundations of education and formal schooling.
• Experience teaching an Educational Foundations course at the undergraduate or graduate level at a recognized postsecondary institution.
• Evidence of teaching competence in large enrolment online or blended learning courses.
• Demonstrated skills related to the incorporation of online pedagogical techniques, materials and resources in the teaching of a course.
• Experience coordinating and working with teaching assistants.
• An active research agenda in one or more topics related to educational studies, curriculum studies or the foundations of education.

Responsibilities

• Teaching foundation of education courses in Undergraduate Educational Studies.
• Demonstrate a commitment to decolonization, reconciliation, anti-racism, and social and ecological justice issues in teaching, research, and service.
• Contributions to service at the program, Department, or university level.
