About The Position

The Department of English at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in The Novel. Requirements

PhD in English Literature, Comparative Literature, or a closely related field by the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and master’s level courses in the Department of English.
Teach classes in the core of the major, such as Historical Approaches to Literature and Analysis of Fiction and Nonfiction.
Teach a range of undergraduate and master’s courses based on sub-specialization and departmental programmatic needs.
Maintain a standard teaching assignment of four classes per semester, with a reduced assignment for the first two years.
Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population.
Work effectively with faculty, staff, and students across a wide range of disciplines.
Engage in professional activities, including publication.
Contribute to service to the University and the larger community.
Comply with the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act.
Complete background check.
Complete Sexual Violence Prevention Training.
Potentially file a Statement of Economic Interest annually and complete related training if the position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code.
