About The Position

The Division of Immunotherapy, Department of Surgery at the UofL School of Medicine seeks a highly motivated bioinformatician at the Assistant Professor level to join our research program. The Division of Immunotherapy is a highly functioning collaborative research team with a strong track record of grant funding and high-impact publications. The newly recruited faculty member will have office space in the Clinical Translational Research Building (CTRB) and access to state-of-the-art facilities for research in molecular and cellular immunology. The UofL School of Medicine provides an outstanding research environment, and faculty are members of various research centers. This position offers extensive resources and collaborative research opportunities, including access to advanced facilities at the Brown Cancer Center for immuno-oncology research.

Requirements

PhD or equivalent degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics, computer science, genomics, or a related field.
Strong publication record.
Demonstrated ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
Strong expertise in R/Python programming.
Strong expertise in single-cell and spatial data analysis.
Strong expertise in multi-omics integration.
Strong expertise in machine learning/statistical modeling.
Strong expertise in data visualization.

Nice To Haves

Experience in cancer immunology, immunotherapy, inflammation, or immune profiling is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead computational analyses of high-dimensional biomedical datasets, including single-cell RNA-seq, single-cell ATAC-seq, spatial transcriptomics/proteomics, CyTOF, bulk RNA-seq, and multi-omics datasets.
Develop collaborative research programs.
Work closely with immunologists, cancer biologists, clinicians, and computational scientists.
Contribute to grant applications, manuscript preparation, and trainee mentorship.
