About The Position

The Division of Rheumatology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of pathogenic mechanisms of systemic lupus erythematosus with a research program that bridges both animal model and human mechanistic studies. The ideal candidate will be expected to integrate with existing research programs with the CHOP Research Institute focused on antigen presentation and viral host-pathogen interactions in autoimmunity.

Requirements

  • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
  • Expertise in the pathogenic mechanisms of systemic lupus erythematosus.
  • A research program that bridges both animal model and human mechanistic studies.
  • Ability to integrate with existing research programs focused on antigen presentation and viral host-pathogen interactions in autoimmunity.

Responsibilities

  • Leading an independent basic/translational science program with external funding.
  • Educating and supervising residents, fellows, and medical students in outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • 1-2 clinical sessions per week.
  • 4-8 inpatient weeks per year.
