This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Neurology and the Head of the Division of Stroke and Vascular Neurology. The Oregon Stroke Center at OHSU has a long history of leadership in stroke care and research, being the first in the Northwest to achieve several milestones in stroke treatment and development. The stroke team includes neurologists, a fellow, an ANP, an RN, and coordinators. The Inpatient Stroke Service is a multidisciplinary team. This role is crucial for expanding inpatient clinical capacity and covering Neurology Stroke Attending and call duties. The appointee will provide services as assigned by their supervisor, contributing to the University's missions in teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service. The candidate should demonstrate competence in patient care and teaching/mentorship, with a preference for interest or experience in research/scholarship/discovery and/or administrative leadership. Teaching responsibilities include lectures and modeling best practices, mentoring trainees, and delegating responsibilities. The role requires an outstanding level of professional performance, compliance with all relevant regulations, and treating all individuals with dignity and respect. The position may also involve maintaining a program of scholarly research, developing educational research, engaging in public service, and participating in departmental or hospital administration.
