Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Vascular Neurology
About The Position
Washington Regional is seeking a Neurology Advanced Practice Provider to join our Washington Regional JB Hunt Transport Services Neuroscience Institute located in Northwest Arkansas. This position is outpatient clinic only. The provider will perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, determine and initiate treatment plans, prescribe medications, document patient medical information in electronic records, educate patients and families on health issues and preventative care, and consult with other healthcare providers. The role also requires staying current with medical research and trends and supporting research projects.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license and CPR, required
- National certification, required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a previous clinical nursing role, required
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in Vascular Neurology preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses
- Order and perform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests
- Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary
- Prescribe and dispense medications
- Document medical information of patients and maintain electronic medical records
- Educate, instruct, and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviors
- Request consultation or referral with other health care providers, such as physicians and clinics
- Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projects
