About The Position

The College of Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management at Niagara University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor to teach in various aspects of sport management, starting no later than August 2026. The college serves approximately 200 undergraduate and graduate students and offers a graduate program in sports management. The position requires evidence of strong teaching skills (in-person and online), a progressive research agenda, and the ability to shape curriculum. The successful candidate will also advise students, provide service to the university, college, sport industry, and community, and support a collegial work environment. Niagara University, founded in 1856, is known for its student-centered approach and is located in Lewiston, New York, overlooking the Niagara River.

Requirements

  • Hold at least one undergraduate or graduate degree in sport management or business.
  • Hold a doctoral degree in an applicable discipline from accredited institutions, or be at the doctoral degree completion stage.
  • Show a strong record of industry experience and outreach (for those at the doctoral degree completion stage).

Nice To Haves

  • Ability and expertise to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate level in two or more of these areas: financial management, sport law, and governance.
  • Breadth in teaching expertise.
  • Sport industry work experience.
  • Evidence of collaboration with sport organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in various aspects of sport management at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Demonstrate a progressive research agenda.
  • Advise undergraduate and graduate students.
