The Department of Computing and Software Engineering at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) invites applicants for an Assistant Professor appointment starting August 2026. We seek individuals with enthusiasm for teaching and a desire to engage students in the classroom and laboratory on subjects primarily in computer science and software engineering. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing and Software Engineering, you will teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in our undergraduate Software Engineering and our undergraduate and graduate Computer Science programs starting this Fall 2026. The department has a strong focus in AI, data science and cybersecurity, and are seeking a strong candidate with a focus area in AI and cybersecurity. The department is housed in the U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering, which is dedicated to quality education, scholarship, and service. All faculty are expected to be excellent teachers who are committed to innovative delivery of instruction that results in improved student learning; be committed to effective use of technology including distance learning; produce peer reviewed scholarship; and provide service to the College, University and Community.
