About The Position

West Virginia University School of Dentistry in Morgantown, WV is seeking applications for one full-time clinical track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level, in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. Determination of faculty salary and academic rank is within the purview of the Dean and Faculty Evaluation Committee and will be commensurate with qualifications. The Department includes the disciplines of operative dentistry, prosthodontics (fixed, removable, and implant prosthodontics), and dental materials. Additionally, the department provides clinical coverage to the urgent care clinic. West Virginia University Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center includes the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health. Located only 80 miles south of Pittsburgh, Morgantown is easily accessible to major metropolitan areas in the East and Midwest and has been named one of the best small cities in the U.S.

Requirements

  • Dental degree from an institution accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association or foreign equivalent. DDS/DMD degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligibility to obtain a West Virginia dental license or West Virginia teaching permit.
  • Current BLS certification recognized by the American Heart Association.
  • Expertise in all aspects of general restorative dentistry.
  • A history of documented competence in clinical practice, teaching, administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to educating and mentoring dental students to be technically proficient in all aspects of primary oral health care and restorative dentistry.
  • Highly motivated, innovative, and works well in teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing the dental profession.
  • Demonstrated effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Evidence of positive leadership skills.
  • Strong commitment to student development, patient care, academic excellence, service, and collegiality.
