About The Position

The Department of Health and Exercise Science at the University of St. Thomas is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Public Health. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, potentially including epidemiology, computational analysis, healthcare systems, health policy, one health, and environmental/occupational health. The position also requires academic advising, supervision of student projects, conducting and disseminating peer-reviewed research, developing a scholarly agenda, and providing service to the department, college, university, and community. The University of St. Thomas is a private, urban university with a strong mission, and the Morrison Family College of Health is its newest addition. Requirements

• A terminal degree (Ph.D., Dr.P.H., or equivalent), U.S. or Foreign Equivalent, in public health, epidemiology, global health, health policy, or related health field. Alternatively, ABD candidates nearing completion of their PH.D. will be considered.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness from prior teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
• At least one year of teaching experience required, which may include experience teaching on record as a teaching assistant.
• Experience teaching different course modalities (in-person, online, blended, experiential).
• At least one year of experience in conducting and disseminating peer reviewed research, with the potential to develop a robust research agenda.
• At least one year of current or recent public health practical experience.
• Interest and/or experience working collaboratively (interdisciplinary).

Responsibilities

• Teach a range of public health undergraduate and graduate courses, potentially including epidemiology and computational analysis, healthcare systems, health policy, one health, and environmental and occupational health.
• Provide academic advising to students.
• Supervise internship and applied practice projects.
• Conduct and disseminate peer-reviewed research.
• Develop a robust scholarly agenda.
• Provide service to the department, college, university, and greater community.
