The Department of Psychology at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Psychology with a focus on Personality Psychology and individual differences, including Psychological Disorders. The appointment begins Fall 2027. Research areas of interest are open, with a preference for approaches involving Large Language Models (LLMs), computational methods, behavioral genetics, or biological methodologies. Applicants may conduct research in a wide range of subfields within personality psychology, including traits, motives, biological perspectives (neuroscience, evolutionary, behavioral genetics), development and health, affective and cognitive science, and narrative approaches to personality. CSUF faculty are committed teacher-scholars who bring research and creative discovery to life for students in classrooms, labs, and individually mentored projects. They teach broadly in the curricula of their departments, advise students, and serve on departmental and university-wide committees. Candidates are expected to teach courses in psychology, including Personality Psychology and other courses within their area of expertise. They must also demonstrate willingness to mentor and support undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds. This position emphasizes research, teaching, and mentoring. The successful candidate will contribute to the department's development, advise and mentor students, serve on committees, and participate in the broader university and disciplinary communities.
