About The Position

Regis University School of Pharmacy (RUSOP) invites applications at the Assistant Professor rank for a full-time, 12-month appointment in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Regis seeks applicants with strong inpatient clinical pharmacy experience, with expertise in Internal Medicine, Critical Care, or hospital medicine. The position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to an innovative student-centered Doctor of Pharmacy program that integrates the biomedical, pharmaceutical, social administrative, and clinical sciences. Curricular content is developed primarily using Team-Based Learning™ (TBL), an active learning teaching model in which the faculty facilitates student learning that promotes self-directed learning, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.

Requirements

  • Pharm.D. (or equivalent) with Residency or Fellowship Training or Clinical Practice Experience (or equivalent) required.
  • Completion of PGY2 residency training in Internal Medicine, Critical Care, or other acute care/hospital medicine or completion of PGY1 general pharmacy residency training with additional inpatient care pharmacy practice experience.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice as a pharmacist in the state of Colorado.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to efficiently manage documents, analyze data, and communicate effectively via email preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Pharmacy Board Certification (or eligible for Board Certification) preferred.
  • Prior experience with course design, instruction, and evaluation preferred.
  • Prior experience in teaching in an interdisciplinary and integrated curriculum preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering curricular content in pharmacotherapy and laboratory courses.
  • Maintaining an innovative practice site providing patient care services and precepting IPPE/APPE students.
  • Engaging in service to the school, college, university, and community while maintaining a scholarly agenda.
  • Develop instructional materials, assessments, and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning.
  • Evaluate student performance through assessments and continuous feedback.
  • Deliver and facilitate learning sessions in pharmacotherapy and skills-based learning courses.
  • Establish and maintain a clinical pharmacy practice site in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Provide patient care services.
  • Precept pharmacy students during clinical rotations to meet programmatic outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain a scholarly agenda.
  • Collaborate with faculty, clinicians, and students on research projects and publications.
  • Pursue internal and external funding opportunities to support scholarly agenda.
  • Contribute service to the School, College, University, Profession, and Community.
  • Engage in professional organizations and maintain licensure and certifications relevant to practice.
