Assistant Professor of Women's and Gender Studies
About The Position
The Department of Women’s and Gender Studies at Wellesley College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor in the fields of Sexuality Studies, Queer Studies, and Trans Studies. In particular, we seek a candidate whose work and teaching centers an intersectional approach. The ideal candidate must be able to teach introductory courses in Women’s and Gender Studies, Queer Studies, and Trans Studies. They must demonstrate excellence in teaching across a breadth of interests appropriate to a liberal arts undergraduate institution. This position involves a four-course per year teaching load.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or professional degree in a relevant field.
- Expertise in Sexuality Studies, Queer Studies, and Trans Studies.
- Ability to teach introductory courses in Women’s and Gender Studies, Queer Studies, and Trans Studies.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at a liberal arts undergraduate institution.
- Intersectional approach to work and teaching.
- Three Letters of Recommendation.
- A letter of application (ca. 2-3 pages).
- A curriculum vitae (CV).
- Description of research interests (ca. 2-3 pages).
- Statement of teaching experience (ca. 1-2 pages).
- Writing sample.
