The Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatics Engineering at Florida Atlantic University is seeking a non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor. The ideal candidate will have a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and significant design experience in civil and environmental engineering, including preparation of plans, specifications, and engineering studies. Expertise in applied, industry-relevant transportation problems or emerging analytical methods is highly desirable. The position involves teaching courses such as structural analysis, drawings, and design-related classes, including senior design capstone projects. The department offers ABET-accredited undergraduate programs, a Master's in Civil Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Transportation and Environmental Engineering, serving approximately 400 undergraduate and 100 graduate students. Faculty research focuses on Urban Mobility, Infrastructure, and Sustainability/Resilience, supported by three research centers. The College of Engineering and Computer Science is recognized for its rapid progress and offers specializations in national priority areas.
